Marion Joyce Brubaker, 12, told her mother that she was going to the library, and peddled off on her bike. That was 2:00 p.m. on a warm Monday afternoon. At 4:30 p.m. a call came into the Sheriff's Office in Akron, from a man living on South Main Street in the Portage Lakes section outside of Akron. He reported that his son had come home and told him that he found the body of a girl in the nearby woods. She was lying face up with her clothes scattered around her.
